BRADBOURNE FELL RACE : SUNDAY 28 AUGUST 2005 : 10AM

Runners from London, Norfolk, Durham, Bedfordshire and the West Midlands descended on the village of Bradbourne (pop 97) near Ashbourne in Derbyshire to compete with local runners in the annual fell race to raise funds for village funds.

There was some excellent running particularly from Rod Harris of Long Eaton RC on his decisive win over the first V40, David Ardern of Goyt Valley Striders, who was only a few seconds outside his V40 record. Rod is currently preparing to run the Robin Hood Marathon after his debut 50th place in the London in 2h 30m.

However, I am sure that everyone presnet will have been greatly impressed by the superb running of 15 year old, Junior International Blue Haywood who knocked well over 2 minutes from the previous women’s record…pure brilliance.

Matlock's Clive Russell also created a new record byt lowering the V60 mark to 39m 40s
